Beaumark dryer repair: the short version

Beaumark was a Canadian house brand sold through department stores north of the border, with appliances built under contract by established North American manufacturers. The brand has been discontinued, but Beaumark refrigerators, ranges, washers, and dryers still turn up in Pacific Northwest homes, especially in older houses near the border. A dryer that runs but does not heat, takes two cycles, squeals, or will not start is usually a heating element or gas igniter, a thermal fuse that opened because of restricted venting, a worn drum roller or belt, or a door switch.

Servicing Beaumark dryers

Beaumark is a Canadian brand found in some Pacific Northwest homes. Since the appliances were produced by different factories over the years, the first job is to identify the actual builder from the model and serial plate, which then points to the correct service manual and parts list. Repairs usually mirror the equivalent mainstream machine of the same era.

The technician tests the heat source, checks the thermostats and fuse, measures exhaust airflow, inspects the belt, rollers and idler, and reads any error code. Electric and gas dryers, stacked units and ventless heat-pump dryers are all covered. For the full guide to dryer faults and lifespan, see Dryer repair across Greater Seattle.

Common Beaumark dryer problems

These symptoms apply to dryers generally; the technician confirms the cause on your Beaumark model before quoting.

  • Runs but no heat

Heating element or gas igniter and coils, a thermal fuse, or a cycling thermostat.

  • Takes too long to dry

Restricted vent, a blocked lint path inside the cabinet, or a weak heater.

  • Will not start

Door switch, start switch, thermal fuse, belt switch or control board.

  • Squealing, thumping or grinding

Drum rollers, idler pulley, glides or a worn belt.

  • Stops mid-cycle or overheats

High-limit thermostat tripping because airflow is poor.

  • Drum not turning

Broken belt or a motor that hums but does not start.

Beaumark dryer repair: questions we hear most

Are you authorized by Beaumark to repair dryers?
No. HighTech Repair Services is an independent, out-of-warranty service company, not affiliated with or authorized by Beaumark. If the dryer is still under the manufacturer's warranty, contact Beaumark first.
My dryer gets hot but clothes are still damp. Why?
Almost always airflow. Lint in the exhaust duct, a crushed flex hose or a blocked roof or wall cap makes the dryer cycle on its high-limit thermostat and dry poorly. The technician measures airflow and clears the internal lint path.
Do you clean dryer vents?
The internal lint path and the first section of duct are cleared during the repair. Full-length duct cleaning through the building is quoted separately or referred to a duct specialist, depending on the run.
How much does Beaumark dryer repair cost?
HighTech Repair Services charges a flat $149 service call for the diagnostic visit, credited toward the repair when you go ahead. After the diagnosis you get a written quote for parts and labor, and nothing is replaced until you approve it.
What warranty do you give on repairs?
Every HighTech Repair Services repair carries a labor warranty against defects in workmanship; the term is stated on your written quote before work begins. OEM parts carry their own manufacturer warranty, typically 90 days to one year.
